Need to add some depth to a character? Chop off his hand. Need to make a character totally awesome? Turn an arm handicap into a weapon. Need to win a trial? Shorten an arm, see what happens. After we saw District 9, we started thinking about other films that had an “altered arm” as a plot point. We found out that arm altering has been a Hollywood secret weapon since the 1960’s and we’re here to highlight our 8 favorite altered arms in film.
